BC Healthy Living Alliance Applauds Senate Report calling for Action on Social Causes of Ill Health

On June 3rd, the Senate Subcommittee on Population Health released “A Healthy, Productive Canada: A Determinant of Health Approach” [link:. http://www.parl.gc.ca/40/2/parlbus/commbus/senate/com-e/popu-e/rep-e/rephealthjun09-e.pdf] The BC Healthy Living Alliance (BCHLA) applauds the Senate Committee for their forward-thinking position on preventing illness and building healthier communities. BCHLA made a submission to the Senate Subcommittee in June 2008 encouraging them to consider policies, which could tackle the inequities in health by addressing the key social issues experienced by disadvantaged groups.  Read more...
