BCAHL Announces New Executive Director, Rita Koutsodimos and Acknowledges Outgoing Mary Collins

“The Board of Directors wishes to thank Mary Collins for her leadership and the contributions she made to the BC Alliance for Healthy Living over the past decade” announced Shannon Turner, Chair of BCAHL and Executive Director, Public Health Association of BC.

“After accepting Mary’s resignation, the Board established a Search Committee which undertook a thorough process, that included vetting and interviewing several interested applicants.

As a result of this process, the Search Committee members unanimously recommended and the Board has approved, the appointment of Rita Koutsodimos as Executive Director of BC Alliance for Healthy Living effective April, 2018.

Rita is well known to alliance members and partners having served with us for over eleven years, providing outstanding leadership in her work on policy, advocacy and communications.  She will now assume the broader role of Executive Director and we are looking forward to working with her as she provides her guidance to the alliance in the coming years.

We have made much progress in BC in tackling the important issues of chronic disease prevention and healthy living, but there is still much work ahead. We look forward to continuing to work with our members, the Ministry of Health and all of our partners to continue to advance our goals to achieve a healthy British Columbia for all.”
